For collecting signatures, we recommend the miniExtensions Form as the better choice, with signature collection built into the form. Use the standalone Signature Collection automation described below only if you want to continue using your existing Airtable form.
Signature Collection lets a user draw a signature on a record-specific page and saves the signature image to Airtable. Use it after a form submission when the submitted record needs an associated signature attachment.
What you can do
- Select an attachment field for the signature.
- Generate a signature-page URL for your record workflow.
- Save the submitted signature as a PNG attachment on that record.
Use cases and examples
A delivery intake form can redirect the user to a signature page after submission. The resulting signature image is stored on the delivery record for the team to review with the other submitted information.
- Gym check-ins and waivers: For organizations keeping an existing Airtable form, collect a drawn signature after the customer submits a check-in or waiver form.
- Daycare and skatepark intake: Add a signature-capture step to an existing Airtable intake flow at a daycare facility or skatepark. A captured signature image alone does not establish the legal validity of a waiver.
- Other signed acknowledgments: Use the same workflow when a submitted Airtable form needs a follow-up drawn acknowledgment.
How to get started
Choose the table and signature attachment field, then configure the Airtable form redirect using the generated Signature URL and the help guide. Test the complete form-to-signature flow on the devices recipients use.
Good to know
The signature is stored as an image in a dedicated attachment field. This is not a complete contract-signing or identity-verification workflow.
