25.01.03

Added New features for the Bulk Download Attachments automation: You can now organize files into separate folders for each record, and also download attachments for individual records using a formula.

Added The portal’s and shared view’s “Create new” button is now a floating button at the bottom of the page by default for any new extensions/tables. Existing extensions and tables will still feature the previous version in the toolbar, which will also remain available as an option for new portals and shared views.

Added Support added for “single select” formatting for formula fields on both the form and portal/shared view.

Added You can now render URLs in formulas as attachments on the form. This way, you can display attachments uploaded to cloud storage as if they were on Airtable. This supports multiple attachments in one field as well!

Added Webhooks after form submission will now include all submitted and calculated fields in the payload body, which can then be used in Airtable automations, for example.

Added We have added a “Recommended for you” category on the create page to make it easier to find relevant extensions and automations.

Improved We have tweaked the “Open Form” button on the configuration page. It is now a “Share Form” button, with clearer options once it’s clicked.

Improved We have sped up the record finder loading time.

Improved When creating a form without login, you can now choose whether the form will be used for creating new records, editing existing records, or both, during the creation process.

Improved We increased the width of the “very wide” form width option.

Improved We have improved the search experience in the record finder. It will now update the search results immediately as you type.

Fixed Several bug fixes. As always, we will notify affected users directly.

Added Formula, and other computed fields are now updated in real time when using inline editing! This has been a much-requested feature and should be a nice improvement for a lot of you. As soon as the record is updated using inline editing, all computed fields will be updated to reflect any changes.

Added New automation: Convert HTML to PDF on Airtable. With this automation, you can generate PDFs from your Airtable with a lot of customization options! You can use HTML code to style the output and generate a PDF to your exact specifications!

Added New automation: Convert URL to PDF on Airtable. This automation generates a PDF from a URL in your Airtable base. This can be super useful to gather a snapshot of a site for printing or simply for future reference.

Improved Views on Portals and Shared Views can now be shown as a submenu under the table name in the header, instead of each being a separate button. This is similar to how the menu item group works.

Improved Portal/Shared View tables with an invalid configuration (i.e. missing required settings) are now highlighted to alert the user.

Improved When creating a new Portal, we will now preselect a Users Table for you based on some common keywords. Of course you can still select a different table, but this should speed things up a bit.

Improved When creating a new Portal, we will now add all tables that are linked in the Users Table by default. You can remove any unwanted tables during the creation process, or at any time from the configuration page.

Fixed Several bug fixes. As always, we will notify affected users directly.

Added We’re introducing a lite version of our portal on the Core plan! This Lite Portal allows for basic functionality using one table and can be really great if you don’t need all the customization options the full portal offers on the Advanced plan. If you’re on the Core plan, you can check it out right now!

Added You can now link directly to a specific view in your portal or shared view! This is another much-requested feature and can be really useful if you want to provide your users with a direct link to what matters to them most!

Improved We have made some changes to the linked record filtering section of the form settings to make the features available there a little less confusing.

Added You can now set a minimum number of linked records for a field.

Fixed Several bug fixes. As always we’ll notify affected users directly.

24.11.28

Added We’re introducing the form view to portals and shared views! With this new view type you can turn your portal/shared view table into a form for creating new records. This can be useful if you have users that need to fill out several different forms. With the form view you can share a single link with them (to the portal or shared view) and they can fill out all the forms they need! If you’re using this in a portal, all form view submissions will be linked to the logged in user automatically as well! As an added benefit, since these are subforms, they don’t count towards your plan’s form limit!

Improved The bases list on your main dashboard now shows the number of enabled extensions and automations for each base.

Improved We have added a button to the dashboard to schedule a meeting with our support team. We are always available to help, and now it’s easier than ever to schedule a call with us!

Removed We are deprecating custom filters and sort conditions for views in the portal and shared view. If you are using these settings in your existing views you will be able to keep using them, but any new views will only allow using Airtable views to define filter and sort conditions. Airtable views provide a more predictable result and have been our recommended option for a while now. From now on, they will be the only option to define filters and sorts in the portal and shared view.

Improved We moved the Record URL Formula from its own button to the Create & Expand Records section of the table’s settings.

Improved We’ve improved the drag and drop functionality for attachment fields. In the past this was sometimes a little tricky to get right on some browsers but should always work as expected now.

Improved We’ve introduced a popup alerting users of unsaved changes when exiting a child form configuration screen quickly after making a change. In the past this could sometimes cause those changes to not be saved.

Improved We have renamed the “Save form progress” feature to “Restore unsaved sessions” and have adjusted that setting’s subtitle to better reflect what this does as this was causing some confusion among users.

Improved The way the portal search functions has been changed slightly. It will now only perform the search when the user hits enter or the search button, instead of filtering the records dynamically while typing.

Improved We have added Airtable icons in parts of the configuration in which we use values directly from Airtable, for example views or fields.

Fixed Several bug fixes. As always, we will notify affected users directly.
