Convert Coordinates to Address uses Google Maps reverse geocoding to find a readable address for latitude and longitude stored in Airtable. Save the returned address in a text field to make coordinate-based records easier to review.

What you can do

  • Read separate latitude and longitude fields.
  • Use your Google Maps API key.
  • Write the first returned formatted address into the selected output field.

Use cases and examples

A site-visit record can include collected coordinates and a separate address estimate. A reviewer can use the address as context while retaining the original coordinates for mapping.

  • Navigation and mapping context: Turn coordinates into readable address information for a mapping or navigation workflow. Address lookup itself does not calculate routes or turn-by-turn directions.
  • Asset and fleet records: Add readable location descriptions to records containing coordinates for vehicles, equipment, or other assets. The automation enriches supplied coordinates; it does not track assets by itself.

How to get started

Add and select the Google Maps API key, choose the coordinate and output fields, and test known locations. Confirm latitude and longitude are mapped in the correct order before processing a larger selection.

Good to know

A Google Maps API key is required. The returned address is a location estimate rather than proof of an exact street address.
